Oh God, I almost had to work closing at work tonight. What a terrifying thought, right? All because we were short staffed and there were no supervisors who could do it. Apparently, the line manager's suggestion was to ask the more confident staff who had been there for a while. I must be a better actress than I thought, because I got asked! And spent 40 minutes freaking out silently. Seriously a terrifying thought to be asked to close never having done it before ever. I don't want to be responsible for all that! Besides, I have to work Sunday and it's still chaos here, with the move and that. It's fun really.

Though, interestingly, I did find out that I was almost offered a supervisor gig. But thankfully, my manager knew I had "other priorities" (the girl who told me's words). Well, that's a vote of confidence! And I do have other priorities, so it's nice that that's recognised, too.

Still. Not confident enough to CLOSE ON MY OWN. They got some help, but STILL.

Want to go skating again so badly. New Doctor Who DVD only barely takes the sting out. *grabby hands*

... I think I should sleep.
So I finally caved and got a Facebook. Anyone who wants to add me, just use the email address that's in my info here. I think. I'm still trying to work out how to use it. I also got a Twitter. Yep. I'm extra weak! Ah well.

Still been boring here. Well, sorta. We've just moved house! But that's gotten boring, so, you know. Our old house just got too big for us (me) to clean, needed too much work done and too expensive with the mortgage. So we're renting now and should have more money! God, I freaking hope so. But yeah, totally over moving. Seriously. So over it. And there's STILL stuff at the other house. *cry* Bah.

Want it over and done with so I can go skating again. I'm in such withdrawal. Ugh. We haven't been for weeks. Although, I suppose that's a good thing. Seeing as how I fell down the stairs while we were moving stuff. *sigh* The most massive bruise I've ever had and there's still a lump under the skin where I hit a step. It was awesome, really. So much pain. And where I hit my knee on concrete was the darkest purple bruise ever. It was literally purple. That wasn't an exaggeration. Pity I didn't get a picture of it on my webcam. Fail.

Might just cut this... )

Okay, done now. Too tired to ramble anymore and Facebook is still kicking my ass. I might have to sleep now. Weak.
You know, I'd forgotten how much I disliked parts of this episode of Doctor Who (Silence in the Library). NOT SPECIAL, ALEX KINGSTON'S CHARACTER. ANNOYING. That's right, she annoyed me. Having a character tell you how awesome they are? Just makes you not want to like them! On the bright side, Stephen Moffat has the attention span on a gnat, so he probably doesn't even remember her character now. By the way, she's NOT that special and he only gave her that stuff to save his own ass. Rose... oh, bugger, Fine, cut! ) And you know what, Rose annoys me a bit, too, and I'd still take her at her clingiest over River Sue Song.

*cough* Okay, it's out of my system now. Aside from that, and the next episode gets better, it is freaking creepy, in an awesome way.

So yeah, as I said, gravity won at skating yesterday. Some cow bumped into me and I fell face first! Right on the weaker knee with the bone chip in it, too. Of course. It's going to be so bruised by Tuesday. Didn't even apologise, either. *scowl* Aside from that, I was doing better! Got my skates sharpened - and could have slept longer because we didn't actually have to be there that EARLY, but whatever - and getting closer to figure out the best way to tie my skate laces so it's tight enough and not killing my feet. IT'S DIFFICULT, OKAY? *cough*

After that, I went to the movies with Yas, after not seeing her for a couple months. I think I mentioned something about that... Anyway, saw Mamma Mia. HA! Oh God, so funny, in a quirky way. I loved it. The end bit over the credits is worth the price of admission alone. Also? Mrs Weasley and Bootstrap Bill hook up! In a way. A hilarious way. So good.

So yeah. Fun times!

Huh.

Jet and Iggy Pop singing Wild One together. Wow.

That was kinda awesome.

I stole it from someone on my flist but can't remember who now. It was a couple days ago!

So yeah! Drew and I went to see the final show of the Rocky Horror Show on Sunday. It was totally worth the day off from work. SO DAMN GOOD. So sad it's finished... almost tempted to go down to Melbourne for the weekend and catch it again there. Incredibly tempted. Couple of little ad libs that were hilarious and not when we saw it last. Because duh, ad libbed. Also, happy day, there's apparently going to be a cast recording! They haven't had time to do it yet, but will in Melbourne. God bless that guy who asked at the merchandise stand while I was waiting there. WOO! God, I hope that's right. I'd kill for a recording of it.

But yeah, other than that, it's been boring again. Work and skating. Aside from my skates needing to be sharpened again, it's going well! I'm getting better, thank God. I always worried I'd never get better and just suck always, while Drew just got better and better. Damn him. But haHA! I no longer suck as bad as I did! *happy dance*

Umm... I made icons, too? That's something? I uploaded a couple on here... Should post some but can't be bothered yet. They're awesome, though. *biased*

But on that note, I think I need some sleep desperately. Work tomorrow. Woooooooo. Customers suck rock. Really.

*blink*

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

There are 744 comments as I type this. 17 pages! Aside from about 5 comments, that's 17 pages of people screeching no. Why is a remake of Rocky Horror needed OR relevant? Fucking MTV. It's going to be High School Musical 5 with Justin Timberlake. *shudder*

Although, I think I still have a magazine clipping from years ago when the last Rocky Horror remake rumour did the rounds. Seems a bit more real with MTV behind it, though. Dilemma.

... Heh, look. 23 pages on a law to ban emo in Russia. I love Russia. XD And I kinda support it, but only because of my bias. Emo. Pfft.

Anyway, Rocky remake = bad. Emo ban in Russia = hilarious. Booooo, MTV.
So, we went to see The Rocky Horror Show on Saturday, yeah? We being Rachel, Alison and me. OH MY GOD SO FREAKING AWESOME EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!! I've waited YEARS to see the show on stage and SO VERY HAPPY. It was just... so damn cool, I loved it. I must see it again.

The costumes were gorgeous and I may have a small fangirl crush on Tamsin Carroll now. She plays Magenta, so there's a bias there already. But she sings Science Fiction at the beginning too, and throws lollies into the audience. I was special and THE ONLY ONE WHO GOT ONE ON OUR SIDE OF THE AUDIENCE. Oh yes. Threw it right to me, because I smiled at her. I was so excited, I couldn't help it! We were in the front row and all, so... yeah. I win. At least, I hope it was to me. I'm sure it was and Rachel certainly wasn't going to make a grab for it. So yeah. Awesome.

The show followed the order of the movie, but probably took more of the script from the stage show. Probably because there... wasn't really much script in the movie. :P But it was hilarious and I loved it. Ugh, so good.

So yeah! Don't think anything else has happened other than that. Awesome.
Ugh, man...

SPOILERS. SO MANY SPOILERS. )

Yeah. Don't read that if you don't want to be spoiled for the final of Doctor Who.
Bit late for this time zone but...

America: Happy 4th of July!

British Commonwealth: Happy Getting Rid of the Colony Day!

*ducks*
Okay, so it's been this way for a few hours, but WOO! IT'S MY BIRTHDAY! HURRAH! Already opened the presents Alison bought me. So yeah, awesome. 2O, eh? Finally. Bit scary.

And yeah, was gonna go skating but I need my skates sharpened and... *sigh* Dad's hurt his back. Pretty badly, too. Fractured his spine in two places and a disc is bulging out! Wonderful. I guess it sounds worse than it really is, but he couldn't work properly for a few days. He's moving a bit easier now and the specialist reckons he should be able to handle it with physiotherapy. But it's pretty much just a temporary fix, isn't it? His back is gonna stay crap without surgery.

So yeah, that's a pain in the ass because he's also at home, annoying everyone. So no skating because it's too much running around and I can't be bothered tomorrow. *sigh* My poor skates* Neglected and dull.

Aside from that, happy birthday Rach and Heba! They won't see this but oh well.

So, stuff!

I don't know, I suck with titles. And also, updating. Yeah, yeah.

Okay, so last weekend, there was a skating competition at Canterbury last week and I wanted to check it out, because clearly, I'm a glutton for punishment. Never seen so many shaky landings on jumps in my life! Oh Australia, we can't skate. But yeah, it was still awesome even if I did get stuck with Dad, instead of Mum. She wasn't feeling well enough. Damn it. Dad shits me after a while. And by while, I mean 15 minutes. But yeah, it was interesting to see how we stand up. Or don't in a couple cases. Ah well. More than I can do, that's for damn sure. And I swear to God, there was a girl competing for FRANCE there. WHY? I can't work out why you'd travel all that way to compete in front of 20 people? She came third, too. She wasn't bad, though! We only saw the intermediate level ladies and men and pre-primary ice dance. I wanted to see the ice dance, and heh... I swear to God, there was one couple. XD And we saw them do the compulsory dance. They had to do it twice because... of... something, but the second time was better so I'm glad that was the one that counted. One of the men skated to Take 5, too. Obviously, not as good as Torvill and Dean, but... So yeah, that was interesting. And typically Australian? One of the girls came off the ice going "I didn't fall!" Ha! Nice. I got to go to Borders beforehand, too. Picked up the first Post Secret book. It's all good.

Then Grandma finally guilted Dad enough to get him to visit again after work last Sunday. Woo. He hasn't been 'talking' to her for a while. Personally, I think he's a fuckhead. But that has nothing to do with anything Grandma's done. He's just a fuckhead. Don't know what's crawled up his ass and died lately, but I've never had such an intense desire to punch someone in the throat before. And then, he's fine the day after he's acted like a prat! Yeah, whatever. Forgive me if I'm not in the mood to talk to an irrational wanker. Seriously, he's barely a father anymore. More a roommate you desperately want to boot out of the house. So, you know, fun times.

Anyway, it's my birthday next week! WOO! Turn 20 on the 21st... which, now that I've written it down, is a little frightening. I'll be glad not to be a teenager anymore, but yeah. Scary. Oh well, I get to go skating on my birthday! I couldn't last week because of the competition and this week... girl things. Oh, the pain. But yeah, next week! Need my skates sharpened, too. Dad can run over and do that! I think [livejournal.com profile] twilight_mash was planning on coming down so woo!

And that's my update! I can't remember anything else significant. Well, except for Nan going into hospital, but it was only for a couple days so it's not as worrying as it sounds. She's mostly better now, anyway. Agh, I'm so bored.
Clueless really was the most enjoyable part of high school English before I ditched it for the next year. I freaking hated Emma. Though, that might have been the whole "being forced to read a long book that relies on clever word play with a lot of details so you have to pay attention" thing. In short, it sucked. And glad I dropped it then.

Anyway! So nothing has been happening lately, hence the lack of updates. Seriously, so boring. I've been working, which I'm kinda over. French is going okay. Still a bit confusing, but I'm picking up words when I hear it elsewhere now and it's getting easier to work out. Finally, finally getting better at skating. It's actually recognisable as skating now! Though, still wobbly. I prefer being able to stay standing. Turns out, doing my knee exercises and strengthening my leg muscles helps my skating! Who knew? But I love it now it's getting easier. So much fun.

Ooh, I went to see Iron Man yesterday with Yasmin (after skating so it was lucky I could even move). I... would just rather talk about the movie than anything else involved in going out. Yes. Well, it was awesome! Great movie. Go see it, even if you have no idea it's based on a comic. Soooooo good. I must see it again. AND STAY TILL THE END. You'll miss something awesome if you leave before the end of the credits. You wouldn't think drugs would be so bad for you looking at Robert Downey Jr. I mean, don't do drugs.

I'm seriously thinking about getting a different job. Working in a supermarket is really starting to piss me off. I'm getting sick of it. It's good money and they're an extremely fair place to work but... I can't stand dealing with so many people or the actual standing for much longer. It's driving me nuts. And when I get a full time job, I can buy a flat and rent it out, effectively investing in property. It's a solid plan and I like it.

Ugh, I need Rocky Horror tickets SOON. The show moves to Melbourne in September, which freaked me out because it only started in January or February. I NEED TO SEEEEEEE IT. So many shows that I need to see, though. Billy Elliot, Wicked, Spamalot. Only one is playing here at the moment, but the rest are coming! Going to blow so much money. *palmface* Ah well.

So yeah. I think that's about it. I need to get some sleep now, I think. So out of it.
You know the absolute saddest thing I've ever heard? A 52 year old grandmother going on Big Brother. Are you seriously kidding me? So not watching channel 10 til that crap is over! To top it off, she's a little bit racist, which is exactly what this country fucking needs. More dumb fucks on television.

Speaking of which, the fired the old host and actually hired the two dumbest people in the Australian media. The only thing going for them are their loud mouths. AND THAT'S AWESOME, FOR REAL.

Fucking hate Big Brother.
So, we went to the Sydney Royal Easter Show on Sunday and I am still sore as hell. Jesus Christ, it's a big space out at Homebush. Nan hadn't been for a few years and my uncle had a day off so, hooray! So, she, my cousin, Ethan and [livejournal.com profile] twilight_mash came.

Despite the long, long walk... it was worth it, because I got away from Dad for the day. Ugh, he's been driving us fucking nuts. Anyway, I took Drew and Ethan and we went to look at stuff on our own. I got to see some wood chopping! I was worried we'd completely miss it, but no. Senseless destruction was witnessed. Then we pretty much stuffed ourselves in the Woolworths' Dome. Where all the food is. For serious, there is pretty much ONLY food booths. So good. Marshmallows and strawberries on a skewer, drizzled with chocolate for the win, man. SO yum. Heh, I randomly ran into Lauren, too. Fun times! We managed to catch up to Mum and Nan (separately, funnily enough) around the artwork. All that time shovelling food into our mouths... they managed to beat us through the exhibits.

I think we went to look at flowers somewhere in the middle there, then off to the animals! We were determined to check some out this year. We saw goats, sheep, chickens, cows... so many cows. We were also among the last few into the baby animal bit. Second year in a row, there was some bitchy chick there. This one was working there! Jesus. Small animals aren't supposed to inspire shit attitudes. She was trying to get everyone out for closing time, only saying "That was 6 minutes of my life I'll never get back, I hope you're all happy," isn't going to garner any sympathy. In fact, I might even go SLOWER. Funny about that. Whore. Not my fault you didn't work your schedule out better. So no, I don't care I fucked you around! *shakes head*

Um... then we had a really, really long walk back to... civilisation, basically. And food. It was like 7:30 by the time we got dinner. Which doesn't sound bad, I know, but the fireworks were at 9 and we still had to go to get show bags. Which close at 9:30. So cutting it close! Inhaled food, found Mum and Dad (then Nan and Mark, my uncle, coincidentally) and went to spend more money. I think I got every bag I planned on (I budgeted and everything) except one because it was sold out. But I found a replacement. Who'd think a Powerade bag would sell out? Only a major brand. I just wanted the bag for my skates anyway. The Schweppes one worked out nicely, though. And cheaper. So happy with it! My skates fit perfectly and it has pockets!

... Yes, I may be irrationally pleased with getting a new skate bag. Anyway. Saw the fireworks and began the long trudge back to the cars. God, that walk sucks with 12 bags weighing you down. It just sucks in general, really. So glad to get home and changed, even though it took ages to get to sleep. *sigh* But yeah, that was my Sunday! I had French yesterday, and work today, which was awesome *rolls eyes*. This entry just took me two days to finish... I think I'll call it a night. Damn you, words. Not working for fic, either.

Oh well. Sleep. Might help. Hopefully, haircut tomorrow! Yay! My hair's driving me up the wall.

Also? Doctor Who really is awesome. *loves*
I totally forgot how fucking funny this clip was. Holy Jesus, I've been laughing for five minutes.

Now I have to buy that stupid movie on DVD. *grabby hands*
So Dad is watching Fox News (ugh) and apparently Meat Loaf is going to be on there. So they show a clip of Rocky Horror... but with I Would Do Anything For Love playing over it. As if that's not weird enough... uh, does anyone see the irony in Fox News showing a clip of The Rocky Horror Picture Show? Anyone? Bueller?

Once the horror had worn off, I had to laugh. Hello, there's a pretty blatant scene where two guys have sex in Rocky. Trust me, there is absolutely no WAY they didn't. So... that's pretty fucking funny.

Oh, Fox. You really have no idea what you're doing, do you? Silly conservatives. Research? Not just for high school!

In other news, I got an awesome figure skating book today. Bless you, Amazon and your accurate shipping estimates. (Day early even! Woo!) I love it so. I took it to my French class today so I'd have something to read while I waited for Mum afterwards. Just wanted to read it the whole class. So awesome.
OMG! Richard O'Brien is on Spicks and Specks! I'M SO EXCITED! I'm pretty sure the squealing was heard in China.

He's really funny. I love it. He had a go at Opera being boring in English. SO GOOD.
Wow. Just... wow.

Man... Scott Hamilton must be so pissed!

I just... wow.
We're watching the new episode of CSI: NY and John McEnroe is in it! He... can't act for shit. Seriously, so bad!

But then, he just played a guy who looks like himself... And he acted that way better. SO FUNNY! He plays a character better than he plays himself! *dies*

So good. This is definitely my favourite version of CSI.

Also? DOI? HOLY FUCK, YOU GUYS. I don't think Torvill and Dean should be fucking on ice like that. People will start talking again. They skated to Eva Cassidy's version of Fields of Gold... and I really think that much groping isn't needed.

... Not that I'm complaining. I believe hysterical laughter was closer to my reaction. XD
So Dancing on Ice? AWESOME. And I've only seen two routines so far. Because Christopher Dean, boy genius, needed surgery on his knee this week (which he obviously couldn't have gotten done in the YEARS IT'S BEEN BOTHERING HIM), Jayne skated on her on, sorta. All the pros were with her two but... OMG AWESOME. Was looking forward to it all week. Total 'look at ME' routine. I love it. And an actual COSTUME. HOLY CRAP. *fangirls*

Heh, and I only found out now - by complete accident - but one of the celebs skated to the TIME WARP. YES. I just wanted someone to skate to it and totally to the point that I didn't care who. IT'S WAS SO AWESOME. Thankfully, they gave it to the celeb who can actually skate so it was soooo good. I love that damn song. They not only did the pelvic thrust (hee!) but there was also a little move that you'd only know if you'd seen the movie. The elbow fuck (it's the technical term, according to the commentary) that Riff Raff and Magenta do at various points in the movie? Totally in the routine. I love it. Nice little touch and I guess that answers the question over who has seen the movie.

*sigh* I'm so happy right now.
