livilla | Birthday!

So, I tried to get this in on my actual birthday, but failed (and now it's actually 10 to 5 so even more fail). I'm 21 now! Kinda scary, kinda depressing, but still. Apparently a milestone! Not so much in this country anymore but the sentiment is nice.

So I got a few things from Mum and Dad: Aladdin on DVD (shut up, it's a limited time only thing), Pearl Jam's Ten, the remastered 3 disc one, a nice pen and holder with a feather on the end (saw it while shopping for Rachel's present and really liked it) and heh, an IOU for a ticket to see Wicked. The tickets don't go on sale for another couple of months so bit hard to get one right now. Still, the thought is lovely and awesome. I got a couple DVDs from my uncle: Zack and Miri Make a Porno, Ed Wood and Underworld... uh, the last one. My uncle has interesting taste. He got me some chocolates and this book, too. At least I think it's the right book. Mine has a different cover and I haven't had a chance to look at it inside yet. My Nan got me a 21 key and a really nice clock, both with stuff engraved on them. Oh, and some money too. Just have to decide what to use it for... And then we all went to Sizzlers for dinner! Yay for salad bars!

Last night was Rach's party, which was pretty nice. Got to wear my formal dress again (and the cutest, but killer, shoes ever). It wasn't a sit down dinner, but there were some nice appetizers! Quiche, pizza, satay chicken skewers, risotto balls (which I miss, damn it) and prawn cocktails (which I don't like). There was also a carvery, which no one knew what the hell was, but that was some really nice roast beef. I, of course, picked the hottest, most disgusting mustard. So clever! It tasted like nail polish. Blech. Heh, the speeches were long and interesting, especially as her Mum had a couple of drinks. She's a light weight though. It was hilarious and touching. Her Dad and brothers said some nice things too. Hell, her Mum even bought me (and other June babies) chocolates for my birthday. So thoughtful. It was also the chattiest her Dad has ever been. Came to sit and chat with Yas and I towards the end. So yeah, it was a good night.

Ugh, but now, I think I really need to go to bed.

twilight_mash's epic fic present has been keeping me up for the last two nights. SO EPIC I ALMOST STRANGLED HER TONIGHT. *ahem* But yes, sleep. Last French lesson for the term tomorrow and I missed last week so slightly apprehensive. Sleep is awesome. Yay!
