Every year, I have trouble with sleep on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I, either, end up going to bed early and not being able to get to sleep or going to bed a bit too late (and getting into trouble from mum and dad because they're still trying to wrap things up) and waking up later than is advised for someone with a younger brother. It’s either him or me who is awake before the other. Than we have to wait to open presents. It isn't fun.

But I have a plan this year. It should work so... here it is.

  1. Stay up all day and half the night, watching TV and on the computer, losing a couple of hours sleep.

  2. Don't do anything cept sit and watch TV or surf the net. Or swim, but we should leave this till Christmas Eve (today) so it tires us out.

  3. We should be tired enough on Christmas Eve to go to bed early, catch up on all the missed sleep and wake up at a decent time. Not 6AM, when everyone else is still asleep or 11am when you're the only one left asleep. I've done both.

We're coming into the home stretch now. Hope this plan works. I've been trying to work out a way to wake up at the right time on Christmas day since I was old enough to know.

Ah, fuck this. I'm too tired. Going to bed.
