Exams are OVER! WOOHOO! Well, okay till October BUT I DON'T CARE. I HAVE FREE TIME FOR A BIT. So very happy. If only my writing muse would come back. That'd rock. I can manage a couple sentences but other than that it's REALLY ANNOYING.
Had to work today (which draaaaaaaaagged) but I saw the Simpson's movie last night! It was a lot more clever than I expected. You had to be paying attention for the gags. It was quite surprising and I think I even saw character development! Quite enjoyed it! Heh, one of Ralph's lines at the beginning nearly made me choke... Man, so random. XD
I watched Ice Princess today too (shut up) because I love me some Disney. And Disney + ice skating = ooooh! Except... I don't know. Genuinely torn. I don't know if I like it or what. Some of it was really, really realistic. But then some of it also made me a little angry. And Michelle Tratchenberg's character was a total flaming Sue. That also ticked me off. I think it could have been the trivialisation of the shit and time and training that REALLY goes into competitive skating. Hell, any sport! Just because she can add a couple formulas together. *rolls eyes* No, it doesn't work that way. So yeah, annoyed yet also freaked out by the realism. Torn. But there is still NO WAY Kim Catrall's character would have won at Sarajevo in 84, disqualification, or not.
Also, $600 bucks for skates. In this country, it was $500 at the most for top of the line competitive skates. Well, on one site. BUT STILL. Thanks for the heart attack, movie. $600 is a lot of hours standing for me...
Anyway! No schoolwork needing to be done! FUCKING AWESOME. I'm gonna go think about the Simpson's movie some more. And try to write.
I long for a realistic, good skating movie. And no, not Ice Castles.
