So tired right now.

Had an excursion today. We went to the IMAX and Australian Museum. Hooray for mummies! The IMAX film was on the finding of Tutankhamun's tomb and it had Omar Shariff and Kate Maberly in it. I specifically mentioned Kate Maberly because it took me from this morning until about half an hour ago to find out who she was. *headdesk* She looked really familiar. She was the kid who played Mary in The Secret Garden, which was one of my favourite movies. That was so random but hey! I'll forget if I don't write it down. Then at the Australian Museum we got to see an exhibit with lots of dead people. Well ok, 3 mummies (I think). Their coffins were so detailed. It was amazing. And the amulets and things that they had with them were so intricately decorated. It was amazing. The creepiest part, thought, was the mummified heads, hands and foot. One of the heads still had hair (which was incredible) and another had it's tongue poking out. It was so cool.
Bad thing, though, I had to get up early but I got coffee! Vanilla latte from Gloria Jean. But then I got rained on in the 5 minute walk from getting my coffee to the station. *rolls eyes* Stopped raining after that. Trust. On the bright side we got a good amount of time in the city to just wander around. 15 minutes before the IMAX, and an hour for lunch. We checked out the cheap as CD stores on Pitt Street. Everything was 10 bucks. *loves* I got Aretha Franklin's Greatest Hits, Bob Marley and the Wailers Greatest Hits and The Ramones. The Aretha CDs are really good. I've only listened to the first CD, though.
So today was a good day. Except my school shoes were killing me afterwards and my stockings were starting to tick me off. But by the time we got back to Engadine station there was just Yas, me and one of our teachers' in the compartment we were in. We scared the rest off by quoting We Will Rock You. *evil grin* Serves them right. Sonia and Steph were annoying me so much today. Why choose Ancient History if all you're going to do is complain? They knew we'd be doing Egypt as part of the course. Gah.
Another plus: Town Hall station was covered in Star Wars Episode 3 posters. I so wanted to steal a Yoda one.
And meme! Because I haven't done any for a while and numerous people have tagged me for this one. Most recently
kimbari and I think
nutmeg4077 did at one point, too.
Movie Meme.
1. Total number of films I own on DVD/video:
DVDs: I have no idea. Well over 100. Probably well over 200. But I live with 3 other people. Me personally would probably be about 50. Maybe.
Videos: Dude, see above. We love our visual media in this house.
2. The last film I bought:
Movie: Donnie Darko, probably. But I bought the Revenge of the Sith soundtrack last night and that has a bonus DVD with it.
3. The last film I watched:
Frida. I missed watching at school and I wanted to try and catch up. Stunning movie.
4. Five films that I watch a lot or that mean a lot to me:
1. Empire Records: Great times watching it with friends and even by myself. You can't resist the urge to jump around to it. Or quote it at random times.
2. Robin Hood: Men In Tights: Same reason as above. And Dad and I used to always watch it when it was played on TV. Good times.
3. The Rocky Horror Picture Show: What's not to love? Funny, great music... And I have so many good memories attached. A few bad but the good outweighs it. Performing it in the cinemas, dancing around the lounge room, Time Warping in the playground... It's all good!
4. Shock Treatment: It's a terrible movie, but like Rocky before it, it has great music. And Richard O'Brien and Patricia Quinn are in it! Rach, Mim and I had so much fun mocking it.
5. Any Monty Python: Same reasons as everything else on this list. Meaning Of Life and Live at the Hollywood Bowl mostly, though. I haven't watched them both in a long while but they still have good memories attached.
4a. Five episodes from TV shows that I watch a lot or that mean a lot to me:
1. Stargate SG-1
2. Battlestar Galactica (the new one, obviously. The old one is just... bad.)
3. Law and Order: SVU
4. CSI - Las Vegas and Miami. My whole family watches these so we have discussions about them. The only thing we talk about without fighting over, really. TV, movies and music. Well, real fights, anyway.
5. NCIS - Mum and I bond over how Kate is gonna fuck up next.
5. Which five people am I passing the baton onto? And why?
Oh, I dunno. Anyone who hasn't done it already. GO ON! YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!
So yeah. I'm gonna finish checking my flist then go to bed. Coz sleep is yay and I'm tired.
EDIT: Forgot to mention, especially for the girls on
chamalla_dreams, Dances With Wolves was stalking me today! Every time I turned around the DVD was right. there. staring me in the face. Or the soundtrack! I saw it last night at Miranda, twice today in the city, the cd twice and then after we got back and Yas went to meet her Mum, she rings me on my mobile and tells me she saw it in Leading Edge Music as she walked past. GAH!
